Rev. Marva is one of twelve female preachers featured in the now released book “Under the Palms of Deborah, Counsel from Wise Women of God”, a collection of sermons and articles. She is in the process of writing her first poetry book. The book is dedicated to the memory of her father. Poetry reveals the author’s most intimate thoughts and insight into her life. She is a ready writer for the Lord.

Rev. Marva has won two monetary awards for her spiritual essays on Martin L. King from Providence Hospital for Black History Month. She has also received monetary gifts for her poetry and writings from the CRW Guild. On February 9, 2008 she won top prize for an on the spot poetry writing and reading competition at Via Dolorosa Gospel Tabernacle. Two articles published in the Michigan Chronicle, “Ten Female Trailblazers’’ and “Good Neighbor” article.
